Our Story

Here at Leelynn's Bulldogges we want to you feel like you are part of our extended Olde English Bulldogge family.  We want you to ask questions, take time choosing your puppy and never feel like you are imposing.  We want to educate you in any way we can and make you feel at ease when you are buying a puppy from us.  This should be a pleasant experience not one that leaves you wondering if you made the right decision.  When we were looking for our dogs, we chose breeders that treated us with respect and honesty.  We wanted to know the breeders we were purchasing our Dogges from were knowledgable, caring and available for follow-up questions for years to come.  We will be here for you and will treat you with the honesty and respect that you deserve.

What made us want to breed Olde English Bulldogges?

Our family purchased our first Bulldogge in 1999 and we have never looked back.  His name was Buster (RIP) and he was the most gentle, affectionate, loyal and patient dog we have ever known.  Our kids could lay on him, pose him for funny pictures and even take him for sled rides down our hill.  We wanted others to experience the love and devotion that Bulldogges bring to a family.  Timeless memories forever engrained in our hearts.  The Olde English Bulldogge is a more athletic and healthy dog than their English Bulldog counterparts.  They are comprised of 1/2 English Bulldog, 1/6 Bullmastiff, 1/6 American Bulldog and 1/6 American Pit Bull Terrier.  This mixture was perfected by David Leavitt in the 1970's.  We loved the look of the bulldog but wanted a dog that could a) withstand the heat b) breathe freely c) not be prone to allergies d) free breed and whelp e) be a loyal companion to our children and finally have a longer life span.

What makes our program unique?

We are NOT a kennel!!  All of our dogs are housed with us and have intimate personal human contact each and every day.  We are located on 2 acres of rolling land where the dogs are allowed to roam and play for hours on end.  Our dining room table is relocated to the living room when puppies are born as the puppies take over the kitchen.  We want them close to us so that we can hear them at all times and keep a close eye on them.  Puppies are kept inside until they've had their first shots.  After their shots they are in a small supervised area in our front lawn.  We do not hurry people to pick their puppies.  Families say "I'm sorry I'm taking so much time."  Our response "We want you to take your time and be sure you choose the right family member."  If we were worried about someone taking too much time we shouldn't be breeding dogs.

What are our plans for the future of our breeding program?

To begin with, we will be providing a more detailed account of your puppy's days here at Leelynn's Bulldogges. You will receive a birth certificate of your puppy and updates as to the milestones your puppy has achieved including weights, eyes opening, walking, shots and more. You will be provided with weekly puppy pictures as we have done in the past.  We will also be asking for more frequent updates and pictures of our new Olde English Bulldogge families. These pictures will frequent the website.  Finally, we will conducting a more rigorous vetting process.  All potential puppy parents will be required to fill out an application.  Each puppy has a unique personality. We need to gather as much information as possible to recommend a good match.  Are you active?  Are you a couch potato?  Do you have other dogs?  etc.  Our ultimate goal is to have happy puppies and puppy parents.  We can only do this with your help.
